There is an overriding literary theme in this year’s Dublin Theatre Festival. One can’t help but wonder if the programmers have only recently discovered their local library. Virignia Woolf, Joan Dideon, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Fyodor Dostevsky. An index of classics and contemporary reefed from the annals and transposed in myriad forms and approaches onto the stage.

 Unless you’ve been walking around Dublin with your eyes closed this past few weeks, you can’t help but have noticed the posters for ‘Magick Macabre’, a new magic and illusion show that will be performed live at The Olympia Theatre from the 24th October. Joe Daly, the featured magician and the brains behind ‘Magick Macabre’, looks awfully scary in said posters. Rest assured he’s not. In fact he’s very chatty, friendly and seems like an old friend (if any of your old friends could cut a man in half).
