Details of the Theatre Festival announced!

Artistic Director Loughlin Deegan announced details of the programme for the Ulster Bank Dublin Theatre Festival which will run from 24th Sept – 11th Oct 2009.

Loughlin acknowledged the invaluable support of their title sponsor who over the past three years has underpinned an extraordinary period of growth for the Festival.  Ulster Bank, who is renowned for its championing of the arts, plays a vital role in bringing the best of Irish and International theatre to audiences in Dublin. He also credited the invaluable support of the Arts Council in its continued support of the Festival.

Former President of Ireland, Mary Robinson, heads up a series of talks at The Abbey

November 2008 – The Abbey Theatre presents a hugely exciting opportunity to hear former Irish President, Mary Robinson lead a series of talks and discussions throughout November and December. BEARING WITNESS is a series of talks and play readings which commemorate and explore the 60th anniversary of the United Nation’s Declaration of Human Rights. Taking place in the Peacock and the Abbey, the series will run until 16 December 2008 and will include a top roll-call of experts and commentators in the field of humanitarian and world affairs.
